My Easter Buns

Shin posted pictures she took of Heavy D on Easter...I was uninspired by our snowy weather and didn't want to get the camera out. It doesn't help that I REALLY wanted to put my boys in their cute Easter outfits, but that doesn't happen out here in CO when it is 25 degrees and snowing...SO, I'll post those when I do put them on and am inspired to get out the camera.

Heavy D did look cute in his sweater vest and tie (thank you, Lisa) and I'm glad he can finally fit into it. He thought he was big stuff, let me tell you.

Today we met a friend for lunch at Chic-Fil-A and had a great time. Heavy D got a balloon, which made him happy the entire lunch date and G Money wanted to play in the play area after our friend had to leave. So, we played for a while and then things just went downhill.

First of all,

G got claustrophobic in the slide and COMPLETELY lost it—I couldn’t go up to get him (I’m too big), and he couldn’t come down. Finally, the other kids cleared out and he came down the slide.

G spilled the milkshake all over the floor while I’m wrestling a screaming D on the way out of the play area. SO…green milkshake all over the floor RIGHT in front of the door into the play area…a complete stranger took pity on me, grabbed a bunch of napkins and bent over and cleaned it up while I got help from a staff member.

D continues the wrestling match with prego mommy and the green balloon all the way out of the restaurant and into the parking lot. (More sympathetic looks from complete strangers. One woman even dared to ask, "When is your next one due?") When he finally got his way (holding the balloon without any help) he is in the car seat and G is in the back of the van crying, “I want my DADDY!!!”

Me too, G.

HOW AM I GOING TO DO THIS WITH THREE?!?!?!??!!

I’m having a moment…

This is why, when people ask me that above question...I just say, "I'm not thinking about it. I'm just going to have to take it one day at a time."

Oh, sweetie, we all have days like this. Your answer to the question you're getting is right on. One day at a time by God's grace. You're going to do great with the transition.

HE will be doing it through you! Children, no matter how many, I am convinced, are God's instrument of sanctification in our lives. Just think, you'll be sanctified 3 times as fast! (If only that were true!!) Praying for you.

One day at a time is good... definitely good... I'm more on one HOUR at a time!! Luckily the boys are actually really good and have attached to us well... but there's times when I'm determined they are playing "cry tag" as I'll get one back to happy and then other one will start up!! I think I'm going to be in a lot of trouble when Beckett starts walking though...

I think the third one comes out more self-suffient! You're going to be such a great mom of three. I have no doubt! And we'll be glad later on that we had them so close together (I preach that to myself at least 10 times a day...hee, hee). I'll pray for #3 to be happy and calm!

Glad to know I am not the only one. :-) I had a moment the other day wondering how I was going to do this with 2! One sometimes seems like just too much.....
I will pray for you - that you will feel God's grace for each moment that you need it.
And I try to remember that the beauty of the gospel is that God is glorified when we serve in our weakness.
Hope today goes better!

Just keep that good attitude of one day at a time. Focus on your blessings!! And remember-it could ALWAYS be worse...I was watching a show on TLC. This couple had twins and then 3 years later had 6 more!! But she had the same outlook-we just take it one day at a time and are thankful for the one we have! You will be a great mom of 3!

Erika, I am with you - I say to Daniel almost every other day "Why are we doing this again?" :) It is hard, but good and people tell me that after 3, adding more is a breeze - we'll see. I think being able to drink a glass of wine at the end of the day (after the baby comes) and eating chocolate during the day will help get me through!
