Lake City, Colorado

We just got back from a trip to beautiful Lake City, Colorado. It was the off season, so things were a little quiet around town, but we got the sense that it is quite the happening place in the summer. It was a great time for us to get away and relax with Nana and Papa. Here are some pictures...they are a little out of order. Oh well!

Guess who just woke up? He's enjoying his oatmeal and Barney. It doesn't get any better than that. Posted by Picasa

Scenery nearby Lake City...beautiful! Posted by Picasa

We stayed at the Texan "Resort". Very cute place! Posted by Picasa

We found a GREAT resturaunt in Lake City called Bruno's. This is Bruno and his dear wife. They are both French, and he is an amazing chef. Who would've thought we would find such a YUMMY place to eat in the off season! (There were only 2 places open in town!!) Posted by Picasa

A happy baby with his Papa. Don't you just LOVE those ears?!?! Posted by Picasa

Heavy D was baptized on Sunday. This is the only picture we took...can you guess why? We'll have to see if Dacy can take some when he is happier. The outfit is the same one Garrison wore, and the same one Bryan wore. Posted by Picasa

Welcome to the little mountain town of Lake City, Colorado. We just spent the last part of the week there in a cute cabin (thank you Corrells) with Nana and Papa. It was such a fun, relaxing time for us. Posted by Picasa

I was joking with Stacy yesterday that there could be a headline in this morning's paper that reads:
Pastor's Wife Decks Stranger at Neighborhood Garage Sale
BUT, I didn't hit her. I wanted to...doesn't that just show my sinfulness? I had both boys in the stroller and Heavy-D was upset. Ok, he was crying and I really couldn't calm him down. He was just tired and wanted to be in his bed. So, I'm rushing and trying to see if this outfit will fit G-Money when I hear a lady behind me. It didn't really register at first what she was saying, and it is probably good it didn't (otherwise that headline would've been a reality.) She says to her friend, "Well, I don't know about you, but that is a GREAT form of birth control!" SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT MY PUNKIN HEAD!! Boy, that mother bear instinct sure is strong. I just wanted to knock her lights out and defend my sweet (but cranky) 3 month old.

Another headline...G-Money had quite the gourmet meal the other night. For those of you who know him and love him, you know he doesn't really eat anything at dinner unless he can dip it in ketchup. That's totally fine with long as I can get him to eat his veggies somehow. WELL, T and'll be happy to know he ate PESTO and ASPARAGUS and ZUCCHINI the other night. (the zucchini made him shudder, but he ate one piece.) And, he kept saying "MO Dat" and pointing to the bowl of pasta. Eat your heart out, kid.

Young Couples Retreat

We had a great time this weekend at Horn Creek Camp with some of the young couples from our church! It's always good to get away...we did have the kids with us, but they just didn't make the picture. I was enjoying the babysitter, Anna!
Too bad T and S couldn't have been there.

Spring is COMING!!

Ok, I know in the rest of the world it probably really feels like spring is coming, but it hasn't felt that way in CO until the last few days. It has been BEAUTIFUL and I remember why I like living here during the spring and summer months. I was pleasantly surprised when I went outside last week and found the stalks of my roses GREEN and little tulip heads poking out of the soil. YAY!!!! We are bound to get more snow, but I'm clinging to the promise of new life in my yard. It will get warm again!

On another note about new life...I'm stealing this from one of my favorite blogsites. It made me smile because of the new little life living in our house.

"Here is a sweet, fragrant mouth to kiss; here are two more feet to make music with their pattering about my nursery. Here is a soul to train for God; and the body in which it dwells is worthy all it will cost, since it is the abode of a kingly tenant. I may see less of friends, but I have gained one dearer than them all, to whom, while I minister in God's name, I will make a willing sacrifice of what little leisure for my own recreation my other darlings had left me. Yes, my precious baby, you are welcome to your mother's heart, welcome to her time, her strength, her health, her tenderest cares, her life-long prayers! Oh, how rich I am, how truly, how wondrously blest!"
