Surprise, surprise!!

We had our ultrasound yesterday...I'm already almost 20 weeks--can you believe it?? And we got some fun, VERY SURPRISING news! We're gonna have a baby girl! I went from super exctied to super scared in about 30 minutes. I'm back to super exctied because I reminded myself that little girls don't come out as hormonal 13 year olds. I just remember how I was at that age...scary stuff.

These flowers are what my sister brought to the resturaunt last night to let my parents know they are having their first granddaughter. I was on the phone with mom and it was SO FUN to hear her reaction. I just wish I could've been there to see it. I had a moment...missing home and family and important occasions to celebrate together. I know I am right where I need to be, but sometimes, on occasions like this, I wish I could just hop on a plane and be there.

What are we going to do with a GIRL?!?!?!? It's going to be so much fun...

congratulations guys!
we just found out that we are having another one too. but just #2 for us. crazy stuff. I envy your being at 20 weeks already as I am really struggling with morning sickness.
Enjoy this time of anticipation.
as for the teenage years - your little girl will have 2 big brothers to look out for her. :-)

It's funny that you had this reaction, because I did too after I found out that I was going to have Peter- What am I going to do with a boy!?!?
But trust me when I say that girls are precious!! I am so glad that you 2 get to experience a female too- while yes the hormones are there, the relationship you will share with her is priceless!
Congrats you two! I love yall!!

Yes, this clueless Oma was caught pretty off-guard. Didn't even know that you were headed to the doctor's office that day, Boone!! Only one thing more that could have made that restaurant announcement even more perfect - if someone had had a camera to catch my delighted face!! Love you - and just call if you need to know anything about girls!! - Me

marcie's comment is right on. i was sooo nervous about having a baby girl. but when we got her, i realized that she and i have a very special and very different bond that's different from what austin and i have. i am so excited for you. the clothing for girls is a whole other universe to discover. you will love shopping for "accessories" as mike calls them.

I am so excited for you!! I had the same response when I found out that I was having a boy. Now I am crazy about him and you will be with a little girl. But I warn Bryan. Little girls wrap their Daddy's around their little fingers. Having both is great and such a blessing. Congrats!!!

CONGRATULATIONS... WONDERFUL NEWS! I can't believe you're almost at that half-way point, too! YAY! Tell Bryan to watch out for this little girl! She will capture his heart and be such a Daddy's girl (which is a wonderful thing), and those big boys will take such good care of her. So thankful to the Lord for this little blessing... can't wait to meet her!!!
Love you, Londa

Yea! I just happen to check your blog and read the good news. I remember feeling so strange that I could have a boy after 2 girls. It was like a horse having a cow. I can't think of anything more precious that that little girl being protected by her two big brothers. I always thought that would be the way to go. Instead, I was the oldest and the boss of my three little brothers. The clothes, oh the clothes!!!!
So happy for you both.

Fear not Shinny-bin... we will get that girl in the kitchen sweeping the floor and setting the table by 2010. I just hope she likes her crazy aunts, because we are going to go nutzo over her!

Boonie, i was looking at cute vintage pillowcase dresses today... oh it's going to be so fun!
